Education

Yale Urology offers a dynamic learning experience in diverse sub-specialty training based on a strong clinical foundation, and the opportunity to collaborate with world-class researchers from a variety of biomedical fields. Our education-focused approach allows residents and fellows to work closely with faculty members who have a broad range of clinical, academic, and cultural backgrounds.

We maintain an active academic and lecture schedule with weekly conferences on Monday morning and afternoon by urologic faculty and invited lecturers from other medical disciplines. This is protected academic time and our urology residents, rotating and visiting medical students, as well as faculty, participate in these sessions. The lecture schedule includes a monthly pathology review, a surgical skills lab, wellness initiatives, as well as a radiology case conference. In addition, faculty and residents are invited to attend and present at the weekly tumor board case conference, Grand Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Conferences.

Our comprehensive program ensures that current guidelines and recent advances in urology are discussed. At our monthly journal club, current medical literature is reviewed and critiqued. We offer a weekly CME-accredited Grand Rounds, where we address recent updates in urologic practice, management of complicated urologic issues, and have invited lecturers to address multidisciplinary approaches to the management of urologic patients.
